About Dr. Joleen

Dr. Joleen Cowan earned her PhD in Organizational Behavior and Leadership from Claremont Graduate University — by 30. Before founding Leadership Archway, she spent nearly a decade at Capital Group, one of the world's largest investment management firms, leading sales operations strategy and cross-functional initiatives across multiple business lines.
She also spent seven years at the Kravis Leadership Institute conducting original research on leadership in teams, women in leadership, and organizational behavior. What she consistently observed was a pattern that would define her life's work: the most capable, committed people were burning out first — not because they were weak, but because the systems around them were broken.
That realization became the ARCHWAY Shift — a systems-based framework that treats burnout not as a personal shortcoming, but as organizational data. Today, she consults executives, advises organizations, and speaks on stages from corporate boardrooms to university commencements.
Proprietary Framework
Most organizations treat burnout, disengagement, and conflict as isolated problems to be managed. The ARCHWAY Shift reveals them as predictable outputs of how your organization is designed — and gives leaders a systems-based path to change that.
Psychological and organizational preparation. Before transformation can happen, leaders and systems must be ready — not just willing.
Leadership courage and strategic commitment. Sustainable change requires more than capacity — it requires conscious choice at every level.
Strategic reframing of systems and assumptions. The most powerful shift is learning to read organizational behavior as data — not failure.
What We Do
A trusted thinking partner for senior leaders navigating burnout, misalignment, or cultural breakdown. We work at the intersection of strategy, psychology, and organizational design — so your decisions are grounded in clarity, not pressure.
Systems-level diagnosis and redesign for organizations ready to stop treating symptoms and start addressing root causes. We identify where your design is producing outcomes you didn't intend — and rebuild with intention.
Cohort and team-based programs that translate research into leadership practice. Grounded in organizational psychology, neuroscience, and real-world systems thinking — not generic frameworks.
Research-backed keynotes that reframe how leaders understand burnout, performance, and organizational culture. Dr. Joleen has spoken at CGU commencement, on national television, and in boardrooms across industries.
